Look below the existing finish
The substrate, existing cracks, flatness and transitions need attention before choosing a layout. Let us know what floor is there now, what lies underneath if known, and whether the room connects to wood, carpet or other tile.
Match the product to daily traffic
Entries, kitchens and bathrooms have different exposure to grit and water. Review the manufacturer's intended-use and maintenance guidance, especially for polished stone, textured finishes and large-format pieces.
Include preparation in the schedule
Room size is only one cost factor. Removal, leveling requirements, tile format, detailed cuts and access also affect the work. Ask which preparation and transition details are included in your estimate.
